4 Tips To Increase Your Abundance Thermostat
You’ve probably heard that you have to feel worthy of greater prosperity in order to receive it.
But how do you actually do that?
Let me start at the beginning so you can really understand how this works.
We all have a current self-image. It’s the way you perceive yourself, and it has a set-point.
You can think of it as a thermostat.
If your thermostat is currently set at self-doubt and a low sense of deserving, what happens when you try to feel confident about yourself and worthy of success?
The thermostat kicks on and you start having an influx of self-doubting and derogatory thoughts to get you back to your set point.
This is how the mind works. We keep repeating the same thoughts, it becomes a set point, and those common thoughts become our current self-image.
We can only change the set-point then, by installing a new self-image.
We have to change the way we THINK about ourselves to thoughts that make us FEEL we are deserving. When we feel deserving, we are operating at a new self-image, and a new set-point for receiving prosperity.
I have four practical tips below, to help you build your sense of deserving so you can change your set-point and increase your abundance. Enjoy!
How to build your sense of deserving:
1.) Change Your State
The first way to build your sense of deserving is to do something to change your inner state. Do anything physically that will shift your energy to feeling more positive and life-giving.
This can be exercise, meditating, dancing while you’re doing the dishes, laughing, or anything that sparks a good, alive feeling.
Good vibes don’t align with unworthiness, so this is actually a really powerful way to build yourself up really quickly.
2.) Be a Person of Gratitude
Gratitude sounds like something you give, but gratitude is actually a gift to yourself.
Embodying gratitude makes you feel good about yourself, about life, about others and connects you with your truth: worthiness and abundance.
It’s as easy as thinking of 5 things you’re grateful for before you hop out of bed in the morning and before you lay your head down at night.
You can keep a journal of what you feel gratitude for in your life, or send people love and gratitude in prayer.
3.) Be a Person of Increase
Being a person of increase is leaving everyone you come into connection with better off than they were before. It’s being someone who contributes, rather than someone who tries to take.
Whether it’s being a mentor, having a meaningful interaction with your barista, offering help where you can, or listening more than you speak, being a person of increase implies that you are abundant.
The fact that you have resources to contribute in any situation reaffirms your limitless abundance. By contrast, when you approach life with a need to take as much as you can, it implies lack.
I bet you can think of a person you’ve met who is truly a person of increase. Notice how their presence is so powerful and magnetic, and people really love and respect them. That’s a bonus!
4.) Make a list of Successes
To increase your deserving, you can simply place yourself in the energy of success.
A really easy way to do this is to make a list of your successes.
It’s easy to get down and feel like we haven’t done anything with our lives. But when you write down everything you’ve accomplished, that list will fill volumes!
At first you may think of graduating high school, getting a promotion, having a baby or buying your first home.
I encourage you to go further and make a list of 100 successes. They can be award-winning achievements or simple moments that you did something well.
Getting an A on a test you studied hard for. Teaching your kid how to throw a baseball. Learning how to swim. Showing up to a new job even though you were scared. Getting an article published. Being thanked by a stranger for making their day.
You can look at this anytime you feel doubt creeping in. This list of your successes is actual proof of your worthiness and deserving.
Make it a point to focus on at least one of these tips this week and notice the shift in your self-image that occurs and the increase in abundance that you feel.
