Make Your Subconscious Work For You
Did you know that scientists estimate that 94% of your behavior is actually controlled by your subconscious mind?
It seems like we’re making independent decisions all day long, but actually we tend to follow the same, predictable habits and behavioral patterns the vast majority of the time.
We all have patterns, like avoiding confrontation, reaching for sugary foods when we’re stressed, volunteering for every committee at our kid’s school, or going for a run when we’ve had an emotional day.
You are probably way more predictable than you think!
It’s because we are feeding our subconscious mind constantly with our thoughts, and it collects those thoughts to shape how we operate.
Here’s where it gets problematic: the subconscious is not discerning. It doesn’t judge what we feed it.
It doesn’t take the thoughts that are good and set aside the ones that are bad. It treats everything you feed it, thoughts and images, as truth.
For example, if you have consistent thoughts of self doubt, feeling like you’ll never be good enough to start your own business, the subconscious mind believes that and your behavior reflects it.
You don’t put yourself out there in the way that a more confident person would, you approach starting a business timidly and hold yourself back from taking risks and making any real progress, and eventually you convince yourself that you’re just not cut out for it.
But here’s the good news.
No matter what you’re thinking, it’s all adding up.
That means that if you start feeding your mind with what you DO want, your subconscious mind will believe it and your life will start to reflect it.

That’s why having a clear vision of what you want is so powerful!
So, how can you begin applying this right away?
1.) Dream it
Deep down inside, what is something you would absolutely LOVE to be true, if you could wave a magic wand? Maybe you would love to buy a boat, get in the best shape of your life, pay for your niece’s education or have a more loving marriage than ever before. What would YOU absolutely love more than anything?
2.) Emotionalize it
Imagine having your dream right now. Close your eyes and see yourself being that person, doing that thing. Feel it in your body as if you ARE that person who has it right now. See it and feel it and notice how good you feel. Memorize that feeling.
3.) Repeat
Continue to envision your dream as if it’s already come true. Tune into the feeling and imagery of it throughout the day. Carry yourself with the confidence and feeling of the version of you that already has your dream. Your subconscious mind will keep soaking those images and thoughts in and it will believe that’s who you are.
Whether you’re feeding your subconscious mind with thoughts and images of self doubt and worry, or feeding it with a vision of what you would absolutely love, it will shape how you experience your life.
Your life in 2021 can look completely different than it looked in 2020. Begin with these three steps and you’ll be off to a great start.
