The Flaw In Resolutions And What To Do Instead
Want to make sure this year is WAY better than the last?
Resolutions are usually the go to, but today I’m excited to share with you an adjustment you can make that is truly transformational.
We often set big goals and resolutions in January, like going on a strict diet or cutting down on spending.
But by the 3rd week of January 85% of people give up on what they set out to do.
We put pressure on ourselves to do what we think we “should” do, but we don’t necessarily enjoy it.
So eventually our willpower loses steam and we fall back into our old habits, because we weren’t feeling enough of a reward to stay motivated.
That’s why resolutions typically fail.
What if instead, you ask yourself, “What change would I absolutely love to make? What would I enjoy and look forward to?”
By focusing on the FEELING, you become in tune with your authentic self, you uncover what you really love deep down, and you stay motivated because it’s actually your truest desire.
For example, if going on a strict diet and being at the gym every day feels like a grind, you can get curious and ask, “What healthy habits would I actually love?”
Maybe you would love going hiking and to the farmers market with a friend every week. You try out new healthy recipes with the produce you buy and have fun in the process.
You feel so good that you start adding in more and more fun, healthy habits, and pretty soon your lifestyle is supporting your fitness, happiness and vitality.
By doing what you love, you operate on a much higher frequency which means that your results are on a much higher frequency as well.
Albert Einstein said,"Everything is energy and that is all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you can’t help but get it. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."
When you’re struggling, resisting and feeling down about yourself you create results that match that. When you’re feeling enthusiastic, inspired and connected you create results that match that.
Plus, when you do what you love, you are so much more likely to achieve the goal than if you force yourself to do what you think you “should” do.
In summary, when you allow yourself to be guided by what you would truly love, you are tuning into your higher intelligence and matching the frequency of the results you would love to make them welcome in your life.
Do this consistently, and you could potentially have your best year yet.
I’ve seen this shift happen in my life and my clients’ lives and it is no different for you.
