How to Elevate Your Results When The World Isn't Cooperating
As we navigate uncertainty, we are discovering new ways to care for ourselves and care for others. Today I would like to share with you my understanding of gratitude, because I believe it is the most profound tool we have to nourish ourselves and those we care about.

Infinite Gratitude & Finite Gratitude
Gratitude is defined by Merriam-Webster as “the state of being grateful.” In my experience there are two common ways we experience that state:
#1 Being Grateful FOR Something
For example, let’s say your child did a drawing at school and gave it to you as a gift when they got home. You can truly feel grateful for your child and the token of love that they gave you. Or, maybe your car broke down on the side of the road and a friend came by to help you change your tire. That’s something to be grateful for, for sure!
#2 Being IN Gratitude
This form of gratitude is the source of true power in your life. Why? Because it is not dependent on circumstance. Being in gratitude is a state of being that comes from within. It's a chosen gratitude, no matter what is happening in the world around you.
Both types of gratitude are wonderful. But being grateful FOR something is finite, whereas being IN gratitude is infinite.
If we only allow ourselves to be grateful when something “good” happens, that means that we are waiting to be grateful. So if nothing good is happening, gratitude is missing.
Whereas, when we choose to practice gratitude as a way of being, regardless of circumstance, we can feel good any time.
Here are some ways you can practice being in gratitude: recognize all the good that's in your life right now. Make a list of all of the blessings that you do have and give thanks for the opportunities that are here now. And, although you can't control outside circumstances or what happens to you, give thanks that you CAN choose your response to what happens. Even if you are not seeing the results you would love, you can choose to be grateful IN this situation. No matter what you're facing right now, you can always choose to be grateful.
Why is this important?
Every thought and feeling is a frequency. All of the results we generate in our lives - by scientific law - must be in alignment with our frequency.
When we are on the frequency of gratitude we generate results in alignment with that frequency. It makes us feel expansive, abundant, open-hearted and alive, and connects us to our intuition, creativity and higher knowing because that is the nature of gratitude.
When we allow ourselves to be ungrateful, because things don’t seem to be going our way, we cut ourselves off from all of that. We get onto the frequency of concern, anger or worry and we generate results that are in harmony with concern, anger or worry. We see the world through that lens, and the results we create keep us stuck in perpetual struggle.
The bottom line is this - the vibrational frequency you choose to inhabit determines how you see your circumstances. It determines the choices you make, the beliefs you have and the way you interact with the world.
Gratitude will keep you in an elevated and expanded state and create the greatest results for you and your loved ones every time, because it brings you into harmony with your best qualities, and the world meets you there.
Practice being IN gratitude this week no matter what is taking place around you and notice how different your world can become.
